Mission

Feed the block. Grow the future.

The Food Army is a volunteer-powered network creating community farms, neighborhood gardens, food-sharing systems, and local resilience throughout Southern Arizona.

Food Army is more than community gardening. It is foundational community infrastructure: food security, community connection, volunteer networks, neighborhood micro-economies, and safe third spaces.

Our strategic goal

Prepare and empower communities.

Food Army helps prepare communities and individuals for future economic disruptions, labor actions, including the anticipated nationwide United Auto Workers strike in May 2028, and emergencies through local food production and mutual support systems.
